17 Apr Totara Awards 2024 — Accipio wins Best Use of Integrations prize
Accipio has won the ‘Best Use of Integrations’ prize at the Totara Awards – 2024.
The annual Totara Awards recognise the most ground-breaking implementations of Totara technology.
Why did Accipio win?
The win – Accipio’s fifth Totara award in consecutive years – recognised their work and project collaboration with HFL Education. HFL is a leading national provider of school improvement and business support services, training, and resources.
Accipio delivered a new Totara site for HFL Education which helped them to realise their nationwide growth ambitions. The new Totara site generated seven figures of revenue in the first ten months of operation. This was made possible after we installed our eCommerce plugin – Accipio Shop – the world’s most advanced native shop for Moodle & Totara.
These funds will be reinvested back into further educational initiatives to help young people across the UK, as HFL Education are not-for-profit.
A proud moment for the team
Reacting to the Totara award win, Ed Mclaughlin, Director – Digital at Accipio, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the entire team at Accipio, and this win recognises all their hard work, creativity, and dedication. It was amazing to be recognised at Totara awards 2024. A huge thanks to Totara for this.
“To win the ‘Best Use of Integrations’ award is a particularly special accolade for Accipio, because it acknowledges all the innovative work that has gone into creating our world leading Accipio One plugin eco-system. A system that allows our clients to extend their Moodle and Totara sites to the next level.
“A big thanks and congratulations must also go to HFL Education, who we have been incredibly fortunate to work with. It was fantastic for both of our teams to come together, collaborate, and deliver this amazing new learning platform. It is now benefiting young people all across the UK.”

A close working partnership
HFL Education had faced significant limitations with their previous learning platform. This made it difficult to modernise and innovate. They required a superior platform to improve internal processes and enhance the customer experience.
Following a competitive tender process, HFL Education chose Accipio to help them bring their vision to life. HFL partnered with Accipio for their extended enterprise expertise. HFL Education also wanted to gain access to Accipio’s plugin integration eco-system – Accipio One.
David Windridge, People & Organisational Development Director, HFL Education, said: “The close working partnership we have enjoyed with Accipio has been a testament to their approach of listening, testing, evaluating, and adapting – building from the initial specification and customising the provision to adjust to our external clients’ needs; as well as giving us a huge way forward for our internal colleague LMS provision.”
